She studied welding at Bessemer
State Technical College in 2000-2002. Her sculptures are comprised of
industrial materials, wood and stone found in and around the Birmingham
area. The results are monumental compositions that convey the complexities
of life's lessons and the value of pain required to learn those lessons.
Pain, suffering, and reemergence are revealed in much of her work. Her
work attempts to bring to life, through movement, materials that are
typically static by nature and resist change - creating a natural
juxtaposition of two elemental forces at work in life.
Currently her studio is located at Wade Sand
and Gravel. The facility is located on the outskirts of Birmingham in an
old coal smelting plant and stone quarry. She incorporates many of the
remnants of steel from the factory sight and stones from the quarry.
